Detroit Black Nurses' Association (DBNA) Geraldine Doby Scholarship
Interested in applying for a scholarship from the Detroit Black Nurses Association (DBNA)? Scholarships are given annually to deserving students who are members of DBNA. The deadline is April 15 of each year.
Eligibility Criteria: Active member of DBNA in good standing, minimum of 3.0 GPA, must have one full year of school remaining
Required Documentation in addition to application: Official school transcript of most recently completed academic semester/quarter sent from school to DBNA, personal statement reflecting contributions to DBNA, academic and professional goals, community involvement (limit to 2 typewritten pages), one personal reference and one reference from current nursing instructor addressing academic ability (See contact form below for additional information).
Detroit Black Nurses' Association Sadie Thomas Book Scholarship
Scholarships for books are given three times annually to deserving nursing students who are members of the Detroit Black Nurses' Association (DBNA.)
Eligibility Criteria: Active member of DBNA in good standing, minimum of 2.5 GPA, evidence of enrollment in a nursing program at any level, with one full year of school remaining.
Required Documentation to accompany application: school transcripts, personal statement reflecting professional goals and community involvement (limit to one typewritten page,) one personal reference and one from current program instructor. Applicants who have not begun the nursing program must send proof of acceptance.
